About Me

I am a Christian woman, (pastor's) wife, "mom" to two dogs, Paleo enthusiast, and aspiring health, nutrition, and fitness coach. Roughly 10 years ago my health started to decline. I had had minor problems before then with hormonal imbalance mostly, and at one point was told I have Candida overgrowth. In 2003 I switched from an Atkins type low carb diet to a Paleo diet and lifestyle but still my health continued to decline. In 2008, after quite a bit of emotional stress, I went downhill fast.

Despite being told by many doctors that there is nothing wrong, and being handed prescriptions for Prozac because it's "all in my head", I continued to search for the truth. January 2009 I started the GAPS protocol and joined the GAPS Yahoo group. June 2011, after consulting with many, many doctors and trying everything I could think of, including a 21 day fast, I decided to get a CD57. My level at the time was 20 which prompted me to ask my (Lyme Literate) MD for a Lyme and Co-Infections panel from Igenex. It came back positive for Lyme and Babesia.

January 2012 I started seeing Dr. Katherine Dahlgren at the Comprehensive Medical Center in Kirkland, Washington. As I am writing this (June 2012) I am still in treatment and struggling with quite a few symptoms, but I am hopeful for the first time in a while.

This blog not only chronicles my healing journey, but it's a blog about living as clean as possible - No Junque Living. This includes diet, hair care, skin care, household cleaners, laundry detergent, and more. I hope it will be a resource to others who are struggling with chronic illness or anybody looking to liver a cleaner, healthier life.
